The primary benefit that the internet brings to our society is to make the process of communication almost instantaneous. With the help of a few keystrokes and online platform, messages that would take days to deliver would take only a few milliseconds.
As mentioned in the article "Fastest Net Service in the U.S. Coming to Chattanooga," the race on internet coverage in cities allow us to exchange information at a faster pace than ever. Besides mentioning the advent of the high-speed network in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the network coverage is a process that's taking place across the world as well. Domestically, colossal tech companies such as Google is taking the lead in streaming three-dimensional medical procedures to help local clinics treating their patients.
In Imagining the Internet by Mansell Robin, the author talks about how the vast amount of information online is shaping our cultural and personal values simultaneously. The invention of the internet has the most significant impact on our modern society. While we get to deliver information out to the world, there are a vast amount of data out there that’s projecting back to us at the same time. As a result, our lives intertwined with the network and reality. While using the internet became part of our lives, we also need to keep a vigilant lookout for the information and beliefs that we are exposed to. It's essential to maintain an analytical mindset since not all information is beneficial for us.
Under the web of the global communication network, it allows people with entirely different values to share their thoughts at the same time. While it promotes the exchange of ideas and data, it's essential to maintain our values and see clearly which stance we would take on certain issues. When we have a basic idea of who we are, we will be less bothered by the random information that’s showing on the internet.

Summary: Mansell Robin described the vast amount of data and information that both enriches and govern our lives at the same time. While the enormous amount of data became available to us, it is essential to maintain an analytical mindset towards that information, since some of them may not come from credible sources. This hub of global connections shapes the way we live and gather people around us more closely, while individuals are subject to ideas that run counter to their own belief as well.

Summary: The advent of high-speed communication network allows the transfer between data and server faster than ever. The implementation of a high-speed network in Chattanooga, Tennessee signals the ambition of the plan that was laid out during the Obama administration period. Domestically, Google is helping to establish the underlying hardware that is necessary to realize such a goal. The race of implementing high-speed network is not only taking place in the U.S; other countries in Asia are also making policies that prioritize the construction of hardware required for a high-speed system.

While the fast delivery of messages across the internet platform enabled us to communicate faster than ever before, the misinterpretation of words online is causing harmful consequences that we can't ignore. Since text messages have substituted the effort of talking to someone in person, the misunderstanding of messages by the recipient cannot be noticeable for the sender. This misunderstanding happens because the sender and the recipient are unable to see each other in person. As misinterpretation goes on, it creates a false sense of trust and security when the other party is unaware of how the recipient interprets the information conveyed.
